Spinal Manipulation

Is a manual manipulation technique used by practitioners on joints to correct alignment and function. The physician moves the joint to its end range of motion and delivers a quick shot-lever thrust in a specific direction.

Oftentimes this action results in an audible “popping” sound which is the release of gasses within the joint. Spinal manipulation is one of many reasons we are the best chiropractor Tulsa has to offer.

Spinal manipulation Reduces Joint fixation, subluxations (skeletal misalignment), pain, spasms, disc disorders, sciatica, and other nerve entrapments.

Proper Spinal manipulation also improves Range of motion, joint function, disc hydration, blood flow and nerve conduction.

Passive Resistive Stretching

Passive Resistive stretching is a manual therapy technique where the practitioner applies a stretch to a muscle as the patient resists for a brief time followed by sudden relaxation of the muscle by the patient at which point the practitioner deepens the stretch, lengthening the muscle. Proactive exercises like this make us the best chiropractor Tulsa has available.

Home Exercise Programs

At Tulsa Chiropractic Associates, we understand true health often requires a life-style shift. The patient needs to be fully committed to improving their health and we need to be fully committed to making that process as easy as possible. Thanks to our take home exercise programs and recipe books this process has never been easier. These flexible service options make us the best chiropractor Tulsa has to offer.

Each patient is given specific exercises for specific muscles based on their personal condition.

Print outs and video links are given to the patient as well as one on one demonstrations with the doctor.

These prescribed exercises ensure proper technique and understanding on the patients part.

The patient’s exercise program is closely monitored by the doctor, who will make necessary modifications as the patient progresses through their recovery process.

Diet and Nutritional Counseling

We strive to go above and beyond what the average Tulsa Chiropractic office offers.

We offer one on one consultations with the practitioner for our patients, which ensure the patient is educated on the roles that diet and nutrition play in achieving optimal health.

Many underlying conditions are the result of inflammatory foods, and a highly processed diet. The patient is given a list of foods to “avoid” and “enjoy,” as well as a recipe booklet that follows proper eating guidelines and a nutritional log, which they will use to track their eating progress and review with the practitioner on a weekly basis. Although this diet is used for reducing pain, inflammation and chronic illness we’ve had several patients report impressive weight loss results too! Some patients have lost more than ten pounds a month, and are experiencing the best health they’ve had in years.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound is one of the best non-invasive therapies on the market today. We are one of the few Tulsa Chiropractic offices to offer this therapy, and we have achieved amazing results with it.

Ultrasound is used to create vibrations from high-frequency sound waves that penetrate the soft tissue and generate heat. These vibrations break up adhesions that form after tissue injury and reduce inflammation caused by the healing process. Ultrasound reduces scar tissue and adhesions and increases blood flow which improves cell regeneration.

Red Light Therapy (Also known as light photobiomodulation)

Is low-level red and near-infrared light. Red light has a wavelength of 600-700 nanometers, Infrared light has a wavelength of 780-1100 nanometers. (blob of text I can’t translate)

Promotes mitochondrial oxidative metabolism in damaged nerves resulting in increased nerve regeneration.

This cutting-edge therapy reduces pain, numbness and burning in the nerves, and inflammation. This also makes us the best chiropractor Tulsa has to offer. It promotes neuropathic nerve regeneration. We offer this in-house at our Tulsa Chiropractic office, but we also offer this as a take-home therapy. If you or someone you know is struggling with neuropathy, check out our 16-point neuropathy exam.

Spinal Decompression

Spinal decompression is a highly specialized traction table that stretches your spine at the specific level of your problem area. Our Decompression table reads your movements every hundredth of a second, ensuring it only applies pressure when your muscles are relaxing, which means you will be feeling comfortable and enjoying every second of your 30-minute treatment. This therapy works by creating a vacuum inside of the disc, which pulls fluid inside of the disc, rehydrating the discs in the spine and sealing any cracks that may exist.

This treatment reduces pain, nerve compression, and radiculopathy (nerves trapped or pressured by a bone or disc applying pressure to the nerve.) It also reduces disc desiccation, bulging discs or herniation, facet syndrome, and spondylolisthesis.

This treatment has achieved amazing results improving blood flow, and supplying nutrients and oxygen to the spine, as well as hydrating the spine, keeping you moving and pain free.

Pulsewave (Also known as shockwave)

This therapy uses interchanging low-high intensity sound waves with micro percussions to enhance blood flow. This therapy breaks down micro plaques, and releases stem cells. This also promotes angiogenesis (the growth of new, healthy blood cells) reduces adhesions, plaquing pain, and neuropathy, and promotes stem cell release, circulation, and angiogenesis.

This therapy is highly specialized and has been extremely effective with our neuropathy patients. We are one of the only Tulsa Chiropractic offices to offer this therapy, and highly recommend a consultation with our treating doctors to see if this therapy would be the right fit for your condition.

Intersegmental Traction Therapy

Intersegmental Traction Therapy is a special table we have the patient lay on that has rotating rollers that move up and down the spine. It gently lifts the patient up, stretching and mobilizing individual segments of the spine.

Intersegmental Traction Therapy reduces muscle tension and joint stiffness. This therapy promotes blood flow and oxygen, relaxes the muscles, and helps alignment of the spine. This therapy has an optional heat pack on it for added relaxation, which will further help soothe aching muscles (and has been known to promote a nap or two)

If you or someone you know is in need of Tulsa Chiropractic and experiencing symptoms like joint stiffness, or back or neck pain contact us today!

Hydro Massage

Is a therapy that uses water jets and heat to massage cramping or spasming muscles in the body. The patient lays on what is called a “bladder” (A large sack filled with heated water) and the jets soothe aching and tired muscles. This is a fan favorite here at Tulsa Chiropractic Associates and it helps to greatly reduce muscle tension, joint stiffness, arthritic pain, and stress. This therapy helps to promote circulation and relaxation.

Interferential Current

Is a type of electric muscle stimulation electrotherapy with many benefits, including pain relief, reducing edema, treating muscle spasms, an increase in circulation of blood flow throughout the body, promoting tissue repair, and strengthening the musculoskeletal system. This therapy is particularly relaxing to patients who deal with sports injuries, heavy lifting jobs, spasming or cramping pain from sitting for too long.

Microcurrent

Microcurrent is just one of the many treatments we recommend for our neuropathy patients, and we are one of the only Tulsa chiropractic clinics to offer this therapy.

Microcurrent is a type of electrotherapy that produces low-level currents that are similar
to currents naturally produced by the body.

Microcurrent reduces nerve and muscle pain and edema, improves circulation and wound healing, and promotes muscle tone. Microcurrent has helped thousands on their road to recovery here at our Tulsa Chiropractic office.

Biphasic

Is a type of electrotherapy that produces alternating current and delivers a charge in both directions. Biphasic reduces chronic pain, edema, and inflammation.

It also helps to promote Muscle strengthening, vasodilation, tissue healing, and lymphatic drainage.

Hi-Volt

Is a type of electrotherapy that uses direct current to produce short bursts of high voltage.

This electrotherapy helps to reduce pain and promotes cell growth, helping wounds to close faster and heal much quicker. It also helps promote tissue repair from previous injuries.

Russian Stimulation, (also known as Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation)

Is a type of electrotherapy that creates strong muscular contractions by stimulating motor nerves with high-frequency electrical pulses.

Russian Stimulation helps reduce muscle fatigue, edema, and spasms, promotes muscle strengthening and endurance, and rapidly increases recovery.

TENS (also known as transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation)

While we do offer TENS therapy here at Tulsa Chiropractic Associates, this is a therapy we tend to send home with our recovering patients.

TENS is a type of electrotherapy that delivers low-voltage impulses through the surface of the skin (transcutaneous)

It helps reduce pain by blocking the transmission of pain signals and promotes endorphin release.
